Submission to exhibit at MGTO Gallery

As a collective of artists we recognise the benefits of working with others who are passionate and dedicated in their creative practice. In this regard, we are currently seeking submissions from committed artists to take part in our exhibition programme for 2026/27.

What’s on offer? — The opportunity to have your creative work included in our curated exhibition programme.

Who is this for? — Practicing contemporary artists who live and/or work in the Kaipara District shown in red, in the map below.  You can work in any media, but preference will be given to artists whose work is considered a good fit to the member artists’ work.

What do you need to do if you are interested in being considered?Fill out the submission form below, load up some images of work you have completed in the last six months and provide a written statement to help us understand your journey as an artist and what your aspirations are.

What is our commitment to you? — We will look through the information and images you send us and treat them with respect as we consider how you might fit within our exhibition programme. As artists ourselves, we recognise the difficulties in getting a foot in the door in our industry, but unfortunately we can’t accept everyone who applies. It is our aim to give you an answer within 2 months of receiving your application. All our decisions are made collectively.

What are our expectations of you if accepted? — We expect you to commit to working with us towards realising at least one group exhibition at MGTO Gallery. This means adhering to our exhibition guidelines in regards to the quantity and standard of work, its delivery to the Gallery and your involvement in the tasks of running the gallery. As a collective we make the work and make the Gallery work. We expect you to take the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills of exhibiting by engaging with us in this process.  If you are accepted to exhibit at MGTO Gallery you will receive an information pack that details all of this in specific reference to what we propose for you.
