Laura Worrall works predominately in oils and watercolours. With her own studio overlooking the stunning Kaipara Harbour in Northland, she draws upon her surroundings, creating thought-provoking pieces that inspire and connect with those who view them, inviting the viewer to reflect upon their own relationship within their environment and explore the beauty and fragility of the natural world.
Laura also collaborates with her partner a ceramicist, Mike Hooton. Painting with a cobalt oxide wash on the ceramics that Mike creates. Influenced by vintage floral wallpapers and childhood memories of the blue-and-white china that sat on her Nana’s oak dresser, her floral designs have a traditional yet modern twist.
Her work is held in a number of private collections across New Zealand, UK, Ireland, USA, Canada and Bali.
