Josie Gritten is an award winning photographer, birthworker and ideas-driven, enthusiastic creative! She originally hails from the mountain peaks and cold-river valleys of North Wales, but got stuck in New Zealand in 2000 when a chance encounter turned into a marriage proposal! Josie’s photographic work pulls on her enthusiasm for people and their stories. She is passionate about showcasing the connection and love in families and does this in her unique, documentary style creating images with long-lasting emotional impact. Josie also loves being outdoors and spends much of her days talking to trees and working on various gardening projects. She runs Wild Weed Walks and teaches communities about edible and medicinal uses of plants. Her plant based imagery photography and print work encapsulate her love of nature and her connection to Papatuanuku and all things Wild.
